Social Studies Week of Nov. 26th-30th

Monday/Tuesday: Read/discuss information about The Silk Road, textbook pages 156-161. Map skills; Eckert and Mercator projection displays. Make a map including information about the Silk Road. Remember to bring your materials for The Great Wall of China project on W/Th.

Wednesday/Thursday: Work in group following the guidelines on rubric for The Great Wall of China project.

Friday/Monday: Begin Unit 3, Greek civilization. Introduction of unit, profile of Greek city-states and Olympic events.

Language Arts Week of Nov. 26th-30th

Read-aloud: The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau

15 minutes of silent reading for AR. AR points for the month of November are due on Friday!!! Begin reading The Incredible Journey, chapters 1-2 on Monday and Tuesday. Chapters 3-4 on Wednesday and Thursday. Chapters 5-6 on Friday and the weekend. Complete activity pages that are in Incredible Journey folder.

Writer's Workshop: Journaling, summarizing using main idea and supporting details.

English Skills: Adjective and Adverb phrases.
